Thousands Expected for One-of-a-Kind Fitness Event in Lauderhill to Benefit Foster Kids on May 7

TAMARAC, Fla. - May 2, 2016 - PRLog -- On any given weekend in South Florida, you'll find a number of athletic events, but BiG Cardio is by far the most family-friendly and diverse. Held at the Central Broward Regional Park, the 9^th Annual BiG Cardio 5K, Fitness, Sports, Cycle and Fun day on May 7 in Lauderhill incorporates 10 fitness activities and dozens of other attractions, providing a fitness or fun activity for everyone and all ages.

"Since BiG Cardio's inception in 2008, we've strived to be innovative, adding new segments to distinguish this event from other athletic events to attract more people to a fitness community event that generates revenue to support and create opportunity for at-risk children and youth," said BiG Cardio Executive Producer, Joyce Feldman.

To that end, two new events have been added to the 2016 lineup: a 100K road ride run by Cool Beans Racing with SAG support from Alex's Bicycle Pro Shop, which starts and finishes at the park, and youth soccer clinics, which will be run by FBCESCOLA with Kaptiva Sports.

Fitness :: 5K run/walk, 100K (metric century) ride, CrossFit, cardio and stationary cycling classes, KidFit.

Sports :: Soccer, soccer clinics, basketball, and volleyball. Spectators welcome!

FunZone :: Bungee, climbing walls, bounce houses, face painting, miniature golf, BSO helicopter.

The primary purpose of the event is to increase awareness of the issues surrounding at-risk children and youth in our community, and to raise revenue to support 4KIDS of South Florida and other agencies who serve children who are removed from their homes due to abuse, abandonment or neglect, young adults who age out of the system, and kids who are vulnerable to human trafficking.
