HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - April 30, 2016 - PRLog -- Four words describe this new phase of South Florida theatre: Unapologetic, Awakening, Stirring, and Real. Tracie Bonnick's Moving4Word Productions is doing something that reportedly has not been done in South Florida before. That something new is the first time four African-American, female, Christian playwrights have partnered their work together for one season of Christian/gospel plays.  The 2016 Spring Season is being billed as "Reality Unmasked: These Aren't Your Average Reality Shows," four Saturdays, four women, and four distinct shows.

REALITY UNMASKED, is bringing the power of FOUR to Delray Beach's Plumosa Theatre. Bonnick, best known for her plays Bad Girls of the Bible and Henpecked, has thrilled South Florida audiences in recent years with engaging and sold out shows. She is the visionary behind the season.

"God gave me an idea that it would be great to collaborate with other women and share the knowledge that I picked up along the way and also work alongside them to mount their productions. Thus, we have Reality Unmasked. The women I am working alongside come with their own great experience in theatre and I believe not only do I help them, we help each other." Bonnick explained.

Kicking off the season May 14, 2016 at 3:00 is Stacy Goldsmith Ison's, "Daddy's Girl: When Pain Turns Into Unforgiveness." Ison, a driver with Broward County Transit for more than 15 years, says the concept for the piece came after Bonnick pulled her coat tail about possible unresolved issues.

"While talking with some friends one day I made some very negative remarks about my father. Tracie suggested that I may have some unresolved issues concerning him. I replied that I was over that years ago. She suggested that maybe I was not! She Encouraged me to write my feelings on paper and Daddy's Girl was birthed." Ison, explains that the play follows the unraveling of a young woman whose relationships are strained because of her inability to trust men. Themes of rejection, betrayal and family secrets come to light.

Following Ison's show, is "The Last Hope", June 11th at 2:00pm and 6:00pm.  The show is written by Delray Beach-native Christine L. Ferguson. Ferguson who is the mother of two stand out football players, is moving to the forefront now, although she has always had a love for theatre.

"I landed my first role as "Clara" when I was eight years old. I have been in love with theatre ever since. I was a part of the Drama Team at Atlantic High School. I studied Drama at Palm Beach State and went on to do professional theatre with Quest Theatre in West Palm Beach under the artistic Direction of Bhetty Waldron. For the last five years, I have been the Drama Director of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Delray Beach."

"The Last Hope" is about a family managing everyday life in the mist of hardship, defeat and uncertain circumstances. The idea for the piece came from being in the midst controversial conversations regarding senseless crime on a daily basis and hearing the tone of frustration and pain when a life is lost due to a random occurrence. Ferguson says what she tried to relay in the play is that while all families are devastated upon hearing of a horrific incident, how a family deals with tragedy is what makes the difference.

Bonnick's third installment of her Bad Girls of the Bible Series "Pick Your Poison" takes the third leg of the season.  In this new series, which takes the stage June 25th at 2:00pm and 6:00pm, the audience will experience two well-known Bible sisters -  Rachel & Leah and their saga of sharing a man.  Their experience brings to the forefront the way we treat our modern day "sisters" whether biological or just our female counterparts.

Bonnick pulls on the story to help women examine how women need to take a more serious road of consideration when it comes to respecting each other over all, but also honoring another woman's relationship.

Closing out the season is "Tears A Sister Cries" by former South Florida radio personality E. Claudette Freeman.  Freeman says the characters introduced themselves to her after observing truths and perceptions in church circles; and listening closely to the conversation in the pews and away from them.  Tears is a somewhat controversial look at women exploring their sexuality, desires and conflicts; while balancing their spiritual beliefs.  Tears takes the stage July 23rd, at 2:00pm and 6:00pm

Freeman, an award-winning playwright and author says, "I think every woman in this play is reminiscent of a woman we know or have encountered.  They are mirror images of our friends.  Holy roller but sowing her oats, forever in love with the wrong one, raw and in your face with what you're trying to hide. These are the women that lay all their relationship and intimacy drama on the stage. And then there's the man - he's simply who he is, but you'll ask yourself is she listening to what he's saying and reading what he does."

Bonnick says, "I believe our audiences will be won over by the stories we tell. They will be inspired, educated, challenged and entertained."
