Bring your wish for the environment and help Viridis Art Collective create 'The Mending Tree'

You can help Viridis Art Collective create a temporary art installation and participate in a clean-up at Cypress Creek Natural Area with the Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources Management, Sunday, May 15th 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

JUPITER, Fla. - April 29, 2016 - PRLog -- The Viridis Art Collective, in cooperation with Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources Management (ERM), will create a temporary art installation and host a clean-up event at Cypress Creek Natural Area,  10035 Indiantown Road, Jupiter, FL on Sunday, May 15th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, and will take place rain or shine.

The Mending Tree

Starting at 9:00 a.m., the public is invited to participate with Viridis Art Collective in the creation of The Mending Tree. Participants will contribute a handwritten note or wish to The Mending Tree using materials provided by Viridis Art Collective. The Mending Tree will weave together our experiences of, and hopes for, our natural world onto a single tree. This installation event is open to all who want to participate.

Sign Up to Clean Up Cypress Creek

Between 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. registered participants will clean-up sections of Cypress Creek by removing invasive plants or collecting trash. ERM staff will assist in the coordination of this clean-up. The clean-up phase of this event is limited to the first 25 people who sign up by calling (561) 233-2400.

About Viridis Art Collective

Viridis Art Collective is a group of contemporary artists who are inspired by nature and place. Founded in 2014 and based in Palm Beach County, the collective seeks to inspire thoughtful stewardship of the environment by forming meaningful connections between the arts and local communities. The eight members of Viridis Art Collective are Kim Heise, Michelle A. M. Miller, Ingrid Barreneche, Shannon Lynn Ellis, Isabel Gouveia, Lucy Keshavarz, Jill Lavetsky, and Carin Wagner.
