Best Day is a volunteer supported organization where typically 100 to as many as 150 volunteers show up to share their knowledge and passion with kids who might not otherwise have the chance to feel the thrill of riding a wave. No special experience or expertise is required and there are roles for everyone - just bring your helping hands and an open heart, we provide the smiles! Kids with special needs are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible as their events fill up quickly. Sharing the stoke of surfing, and a day at the beach with the kids, was far more gratifying than any surf session I can remember," said big wave champion Greg Long. "As a surf school owner I've had the chance to help thousands of people catch their first waves. And today was my best day ever taking someone surfing. In fact, taking children out for their first waves ever using a tandem surfboard with the custom chair was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life," said Jason Selman, owner of Endless Summer Surf Camp. "One new surfer was screaming 'Thank you' to me halfway thru our first ride. I felt like I should be thanking him. What a great program and what a great vibe on the beach and in the water." "Magical things can happen at Best Day events. We've had 3 experiences where non-verbal children with Autism spoke for the first time while attending one of our events. First words ranged from 'Boogie board, boogie board, boogie board' from a 10-year-old boy who didn't even want to try body boarding and then shouted this when being escorted to try tandem surfing, to "I love my mom," on Mother's Day no less, by a 13-year-old girl. You can only imagine the tears of joy that we shed among the parents and the volunteers fortunate to be a part of such a heartwarming experience," Contact Brooks Lambert ***@bestdayfoundation.org Photos: https://www.prlog.org/ https://www.prlog.org/ https://www.prlog.org/ End
