How to Get Higher Conversion Rate on You Mobile Site

LEICESTER, U.K. - April 25, 2016 - PRLog -- We all know that the future of internet is mobile, with a third of all UK sales now being made on a mobile or tablet.  It comes as no surprise therefore, that smartphone usage is expected to increase even further over the next few years.

If your website is not mobile responsive already, what are you waiting for?

Given the size of the ever increasing audience base, it's certainly something organizations cannot afford to ignore. Why? Since websites provide primarily a visual experience for customers, it is important to make your site look as good as possible. If it is not, this creates a risk for your online business, as you may lose valuable customers if your site isn't mobile-responsive.

Here are ways to get more conversions and sales through your mobile site.

1) Design

Web design is key! If there are two things any user hates, it would have to be the internet connection and long forms! First of all mobile screens are small, and secondly typing on one is not fun! The last thing a customer wants is to be making spelling mistakes when switching between form fields, so use a short, easy-to-use form, asking for relevant information only.

Asking too many questions is calling for shopping cart abandonment!

Give this a try:

- Use a calendar for date selection.
- Use automatic address finder to make it easier! You just need to ask for house number and postcode!
- Or, get users location automatically, through GPS.

2) Small screen - small content

We've all seen the sizes of mobile screens have been getting bigger, however they are still significantly smaller than their desktop counterparts. This makes the viewable area of the landing page smaller, meaning that you have less time to capture the attention of your users! Get rid of all distractions and place emphasis on the most valuable content:

- Content, content and content!
- Hide navigation bar
- Limit product information - make it visible when user clicks to get more information
- Use swipeable image galleries

3) Create a smoother payment process

This is the final stage of the process and the most important. Everything else you've done so far translates to the payment page. So if you mess up this part, then you've most likely lost your customers for a long time to come!

You can prevent this by:

- Giving customers multiple payment options - everyone loves choice!
- Use numeric pad for default input method on credit card fields to prevent chances of customers making mistakes.

4) Offer live chat within the app

If this feature is available on your website, why not make the most of it on your mobile site too? Having the option to have questions answered whilst in the middle of a purchase can be important and is therefore and great feature to have.

Live chat is useful for answering customer queries and a great way of providing immediate help, especially for those customers who may require that extra helping hand when making a purchase decision. It also helps you get a conversion!

With the rapid increase of mobile users, you simply cannot afford to ignore this market. It's pretty simple, when creating your web design, whether you are doing it yourself or through an agency, ensure every aspect of it is translated to a mobile responsive site too!

Keeping a mobile-optimised shopping experience for your customers, that helps them pick and pay for products they want can dramatically increase your conversion rate.
