In supporting the "Great Green Wall," the Klorane Institute aims to limit the desertification of the African Saharo-Sahelian zone, a region heavily affected by poverty and emigration since serious droughts struck the area in recent decades. By planting more than 10,000 trees every year, the goal is to create a belt of adapted plant species, including the desert date tree, which will span across the African continent from Dakar to Djibouti over the course of six years.
