LOWELL, Mass. - April 22, 2016 - PRLog -- QRyde is proud to sponsor an important new initiative, "The Faces of Transportation." This initiative sheds light on people and organizations who design, create, and execute unique and innovative transportation models in their communities. These talented and caring people go above and beyond for their community, and "The Faces of Transportation" wants to create awareness of these programs and spread the word of 'best practices' to other communities.

The public transportation industry is often thought of as buses, trains, subways, taxis, and, recently, rideshare apps. But in reality, many of the country's neediest citizens are served by an often-unseen but nonetheless critical system of paratransit and demand-response providers, who provide life-sustaining and life-enhancing transportation services. This industry is filled with programs and services that create a better quality of life for those who need them. "The Faces of Transportation" seeks to highlight these innovative and unique programs. The spotlight will be turned on a range of services, from volunteer driver programs to regional transit authorities to community driven transportation to mobility manager stories.

The first face of transportation is Beverly Raymond, director of transportation, at Tri-County Transit in Berlin, New Hampshire. Tri-County Transit is a public transportation organization in northern New Hampshire. They are a division of a large 501c human services agency that provides elder, disabled, low income, and general public transportation. Our services are operated in Coos, Carroll, and Northern Grafton Counties, New Hampshire.
