PHILADELPHIA - April 19, 2016 - PRLog -- Every nine minutes someone in the United States dies from a blood cancer. That is more than six people per hour, and 155 individuals per day. The Marchell T Davis Foundation will honor physicians of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, who help to offset those statistics daily, as well as those sponsoring the Marchell T Davis "Survivor" Fashion Show occurring the following week.

WHAT: A special happy hour honoring Oncology physicians and event sponsors with awards and recognition for their continued support of Leukemia and Lymphoma research

WHO: The Marchell T Davis Foundation, established in 2015 to bring greater awareness to adult Leukemia and Lymphoma conditions, while providing supportive funding to other related cancer research charities

WHEN: Wednesday, April 20th, 6PM

WHERE: 1901 John F Kennedy Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19103

WHY: Leukemia affects ten times as many adults as it does children, but many associate the disease with pediatric cancer or blood diseases not associated with cancer. Most diagnosed with this blood cancer are over 50 years of age. The Marchell T Davis Foundation recognizes organizations that are educating the public, and who are conducting more research focused on eliminating blood cancers not only found in adolescents, but predominately in adult populations.
