By: Dine LBC "We realize that there are many among us who never get the chance to dine out," said Henry, who said that close to 100 participating restaurants are involved in this year's Dine LBC to be held April 23 - May 1, 2016. "Holding this luncheon is our way of including everyone in Dine LBC." "Despite its size as the state's 6th largest city, Long Beach is a tightly knit community where diversity and civic pride is our strength," said Chef Dave MacLennan, executive chef of James Republic. "My fellow chefs and I are delighted to kick off Dine LBC by treating those most vulnerable in our society to an unforgettable meal." Since 1972, Long Beach Rescue Mission has served the needs of the hungry and homeless in the greater Long Beach area. In addition to providing food and shelter, the Long Beach Rescue Mission offers rehabilitation programs, spiritually based counseling, education and job skills classes as well as transitional housing. Dine LBC - Long Beach Restaurant Week is an annual event where dozens of local restaurants in every community of the city will offer value-oriented, 3-course meals set at one of four price points: $20, $30, $40 or $50. In addition to attracting Southern California "foodies," Dine LBC opens the doors for those who view dining out as a luxury to explore local culinary destinations or revisit favorites.
