FORT WORTH, Texas - April 18, 2016 - PRLog -- A group of 200 Dallas-Fort Worth kids explored science, technology, engineering, the arts and math during the 2016 Children's Cluster conference, a program held by local chapters of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. The conference was held at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth.

The conference's theme was "Start Your Engines … Racing Toward the Future!" and the North Suburban Dallas chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. organized and hosted the event. All nine chapters in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex participated.

"Every one of the kids and many of the mothers who attended learned something new today about STEAM fields and the variety of careers available in motorsports," said Shontell Quinn, a member of the North Suburban Dallas chapter and chair of the event. "We all had fun and left feeling energized to continue learning and inspiring kids to explore these fields."

Children explored STEAM and motorsports in sessions where they talked to professional drivers, built LEGO cars, created original artwork, and learned media interview skills. At the end of the conference kids had an exciting opportunity to take a spin with a professional driver in a pace car.

Interstate Batteries served as the 2016 Checkered Flag Sponsor and provided funding and in-kind support for the DFW-Area Regional Children's Cluster.

Other sponsor companies include: Coca-Cola Beverages, Omar Ramos Photography, Ace Fence Company and Nationwide Insurance.
