TerraCraft Motors Inc. Proves Ready for the High-Performance Trike Marketplace
"The CoPilot utilizes a proprietary network of sensors and an intelligent controller to lean trikes into turns exactly as an experienced rider would lean a traditional, two-wheeled motorcycle. By creating an 'expert rider model' in the software, the CoPilot system is able to adapt to all road forces and conditions then respond in a fraction of the time required by a human rider." explains Hank Jones, TerraCraft Electrical Engineer. Manual controls still allow the rider to anticipate events and enjoy true counter-steering and steer-by-leaning exactly as on a motorcycle, while the autonomous CoPilot maintains an unprecedented factor of safety and performance.
"The CoPilot's ability to fully sense and respond to the road makes the TerraCraft riding experience safer, smoother and more comfortable than any fixed body vehicle" touts TerraCraft Founder and CEO Wes Abbott. "On paper, we understood the functionality, but we were thrilled to discover the actual ride of the SuperTrike is 'organic' …instead of working against physics, the vehicle works with physics in a powerfully elegant way" states Chief Mechanical Engineer, Eric Kuehnel. "This really changes everything about the global trike market."
Andrew Thomson, Co-Founder of TerraCraft Motors Inc. states, "We are thrilled to have the technology extensively tested and now ready. With the increased trike sales projected in the next 5 years, we believe by offering a safer, more exciting, higher performing SuperTrike, we can significantly impact the market with unique designs, custom builds and/or licensing CoPilot technology to industry manufacturers."
TerraCraft Motors Inc. is a small team originating from NASA contractors at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas with over 253 years of combined aerospace experience. The company was founded by individuals from the human spaceflight operations, spacecraft testing and extreme environment engineering realms which makes the TerraCraft SuperTrike and its CoPilot Interactive Lean Control System (ILCS) a vehicle actually designed by rocket scientists.
"Our NASA backgrounds have allowed us to think quite differently about how to create a safer, more stable and higher-performance super-trike. TerraCraft Motors Inc. is now ready to engage the world-wide trike market in a very exclusive way." says Christopher Leslie, TerraCraft External Relations.
