BEDMINSTER, N.J. - April 13, 2016 - PRLog -- The Center for Contemporary Art is happy to announce that the work of several of The Center's ceramics faculty and students has been accepted in juried exhibitions this spring. Ceramic classes at The Center are offered for children and adults at all levels of expertise. Registration for spring and summer sessions of classes and workshops is happening now. Summer art camp registration is also open, which will begin in late June.

Faculty members John Reinking (Pittstown) and Helen Marie Farrant (Lebanon) and students Gillian Kelly (Branchburg) and Blanche Somer (Lebanon) have pieces on display in an annual exhibition by The Clay Studio (Philadelphia, PA) titled "Small Favors." This exhibition presents over three hundred ceramic pieces by both emerging and established artists. The Clay Studio stated, "Though small in scale the artworks created for this exhibition are huge in impact. Each work is exhibited in a Plexiglas wall mounted cube." Each piece was required to fit in a four-inch acrylic cube. This exhibition is on view through May 1st.

Student Blanche Somer (Lebanon) also has a ceramic piece on display in the San Angelo Museum of Fine Art's 21st National Ceramic Competition. The show will be on display from April 15th through June 26th. Over 721 ceramic pieces were submitted and juror Christy Johnson selected 115 pieces by 114 artists to be in the ceramic exhibition. The opportunity was open to all artists residing in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Pieces were required to be functional and sculptural and completed within the last two years.
