The book has an interesting fiction spun by author Praveen. The story revolves around the life of Rahul, born to a poor family. When he is just seven, the government announces a mega highway project that makes people in the village happy. Soon, the happiness turns into despair as their houses are bulldozed for the project, leaving them homeless. The demolition unites two families - Valmik's family and Rahul's family - and they take shelter in their town's railway station.

Valmik is a scavenger and is also a close aide to Mayor and local political mafias. This tie-up helps him procure a major percentage of the rehabilitation with corrupt practices. Rahul's father and Valmik also set out to get a job in town but are cheated by their employer. With an intention to teach him a lesson, Valmik exposes the employer and topples him from the elections. This results in Valmik gaining respect and he gets a land in a place called Gudgaon. While Valmik becomes a director of a private organization, Rahul's father denies the offer and continues his profession as a scavenger.

Eight years later, Mona and Rahul grow up, as individuals from two distinct classes. While Mona lives in a villa, Rahul stays in a cottage. While one completes schooling, the other takes up a job for a living. Both grow up distinctly, as their lifestyle takes them. Mona gets admission in one of the high-profile colleges for fashion technology that marked her exit from Rahul's life.

Rahul can't stand her exit. Driven by love, he avoids taking care of his sick mother, with an intention to get her back in life. One slap on his face makes him realize what Rahul has been missing - his career, his mother, and his life. But one incident changes Rahul's life once and forever. What is the incident? Praveen Kumar Toppo was born in tribal hinterland of Jashpur, Chhatisgarh. Brought up by the social worker parents, he post graduated in business management from Pune.
