LYNX 2016 - International Prize of Contemporary Art

TRIESTE, Italy - April 9, 2016 - PRLog -- Registrations are open for the Lynx Prize 2016, the international contemporary art competition promoted by the Associazione Culturale Il Sestante (Trieste). After the 2015 edition, involving entrants from all over the world and showing the winners' works in a series of successful exhibitions, this year's edition is adding a section and is offering a wider range of awards.

Painting, photography, digital art and graphics: these are the sections in which artists can register themselves  until June 5, 2016.

A judging panel composed by 15 experts will select a winner for each section. The four absolute winners will be awarded a prize worth a total of € 8.500.

Again this year, there will be a special section dedicated to the Under21 artists, in order to enhance and support  the talent of the youngest and promising artists.

In addition, special awards will be assigned: 6 Contemporary Art Fair prizes and 6 exhibiting contracts for one year.

The 80 artworks will be selected by the jury and will be exhibited in Trieste at the Lux Art Gallery (Italy), in  Ajdovščina at the Galerija Lokarjeva (Slovenia), in Zagreb at the Galerija Zvonimir (Croatia) and in Livorno at the Fortezza Nuova (Italy).

Trieste, the city that saw the prize being born, is a melting pot of cultures: its very multicultural aspect is reflected in the participation of  international artists and especially in the choice of the organization to give an international context to the prize, carrying the exhibitions across the border and allowing each artist to follow his own research path in a dynamic cultural context.
