A Summer Program to teach Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, Advocacy and Literacy debuts in NN, VACrusading Outreach Ministry Inc. dba More Than Words ARB, is excited about the debut of its summer youth program to reach disadvantaged youth in Peninsula, VA.
By: Crusading Outreach Ministry Inc. 501 (c)(3) The Young Achievers Excellence Program™ is a four week, writing intensive course designed to teach empowerment, entrepreneurship, advocacy and creative writing to youth age 12-17. Students will be taught how to take their dreams, passions as well as frustrations, and turn them into platforms of advocacy, expression and wealth creation. Upon completion of the course, every student will be presented with the paperback version of his or her book and given the opportunity to present it before parents, community leaders, business owners and attendees during the graduation ceremony. "I am so excited to offer this program to the youth that Crusading Outreach Ministry serves in the Peninsula area", says More Than Words ARB™ program creator and published author, Alesha Brown, The Joy Guru. "I was born, live and work in the Peninsula area and, as a childhood abuse survivor, I know all too well the struggles that our youth deal with and often feel as if they have no outlet or anyone who will listen. I know what it feels like to be in that place of helplessness, hopelessness, depression and frustration. When you add to that socioeconomic challenges such as a lack of higher education opportunities, poverty, racism and parenting issues, too many of our youth resort to criminal or other undesirable activities because they see no other means of survival." "As a published author, motivational speaker and empowerment coach, I help adults every day write, publish and market their books for credibility, advocacy and to generate revenue for their businesses, professional organizations and causes. As a youth mentor, I thought, 'Why not do the same for our youth, especially those who are disadvantaged? Youth Services Career Café, ran by the Peninsula Workforce Development Center, has agreed to allow More Than Words ARB to conduct this four week program there (starting June 18th). Crusading Outreach Ministry will run two separate, four week courses, if the demand is there. "Finding the children is not a problem-Crusading Outreach Ministry Inc. has several community partnerships in which we serve children in that age group. What the program needs is the community's support, primarily financial. We know there are many local business owners and community leaders that would be willing to help once they are made aware of this unique program. The space can hold 20 children at a time and has 10 computers available. The tuition is $30 per week, $120 for the four week course and every dollar donated is tax deductible. All dollars donated count, big and small. Those who would like to enroll a child age 12-17, sponsor another child or make a tax deductible donation, can visit Eventbrite to do so." https://www.eventbrite.com/ For a list of some of the other programs that Crusading Outreach Crusading Outreach offers, and for more information about the Non-Profit organization, please visit https://www.elderdelorispettaway.com.
