DAV and RecruitMilitary to Produce All Veterans Career Fair in Norfolk/Virginia Beach Area on May 12

LOVELAND, Ohio - April 8, 2016 - PRLog -- DAV and RecruitMilitary will produce an All Veterans Career Fair at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, May 12, 2016. USAA will sponsor the event, which will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

USAA will also host a pre-event seminar at 10:00 a.m. on "Five Steps to Informed Financial Transition."

RecruitMilitary job fairs maintain a track record of helping veterans find meaningful employment," said President and CEO Peter Gudmundsson. "Just last year, 56.3% of veteran job seekers expected to secure an interview as a result of their participation in a RecruitMilitary job fair and employers were expected to extend as many as 38,700 interviews and more than 12,000 job offers."

In November of 2015, the DAV-RecruitMilitary Norfolk event connected more than 414 veteran job seekers with 51 exhibitors, including Lockheed Martin and L-3 Communications. Participating companies expected to conduct up to 282 interviews and make up to 89 job offers as a result of that career fair.

RecruitMilitary has produced veteran job fairs since 2006 and has held 18 events in Norfolk, drawing 6,866 attendees and 745 exhibitors. The company has produced more than 814 events in 65 cities across the country. RecruitMilitary will return to Norfolk to host an additional veteran career fair in November.
