Former Bayside GM Returns as Operations Manager

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - April 7, 2016 - PRLog -- He's back! Irvine resident Dave Martel, who has spent the better part of 4 decades in the restaurant business, has been named operations manager at Bayside, the critically acclaimed Newport Beach dining establishment.  His return is something of a homecoming as Martel was the restaurant's first general manager when it opened its doors in 1999.  Before that, he was assistant general manager of Bayside's sister restaurant, Bistango in Irvine.

In addition to managerial positions at fine dining establishments, Martel worked in the wine and spirits industry including a 3-year stint at Seagrams Fine Wine Division.  Upon leaving Bayside, he was appointed general manager of the Balboa Yacht Club and its Club House for nearly a decade before accepting the general manager position at the Sausalito Yacht Club where he remained for 5 years.

"I'm so excited to be returning to Bayside after so many years," said Martel. "I consider Bayside as my home away from home and the team here is almost like a family."
