Charles Nelson Recalls the Day He Beat Brother Byron Nelson at Golf

PASADENA, Calif. - April 15, 2016 - PRLog -- May 30, 1947 is a memorable day for more than one reason for Charles Nelson, brother of legendary golfer Byron Nelson.  It was the day he was married.  But more importantly it was the day he beat his brother on a Par Four in North Texas.

"He parred the hole and I birdied it," the younger Nelson proudly says in a casual interview with his cousin and filmmaker, Drew Allen.

Allen is preparing to launch a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to raise the funds to make a full length documentary on Lord Byron.  "Charles will be an important part of this documentary," Allen explains.  "Byron meant the world to Charles and I want him to be able to share his stories and point of view."

The full recollection of the proud moment of victory can be watched on the facebook page for the documentary, called "Uncle Byron."  Allen plans to release additional clips over the next few days.

"Yes I beat him.  One day on one hole," Charles proudly says at the end.  Who wouldn't be proud?  Not everyone can say they beat Byron Nelson.  The full recollection can be found in the link below.
