Counselor Books Releases "Affordable and Portable" Glossary of Invertebrate Zoology

Designed for students, an authoritative introduction to the enormous lexicon of invertebrate zoology by Dr. Ron Clouse.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - April 6, 2016 - PRLog -- Counselor Books, L.L.C. is pleased to announce the release of its inaugural publication, A Basic Glossary of Invertebrate Zoology by Dr. Ron Clouse. This is an authoritative glossary of over 900 terms in the field of invertebrate zoology, which is the study of all animals without backbones, including many single-celled organisms. A major impediment for students of the subject is its vast specialized terminology, and online resources are often of unknown quality and authorship.

Most published science reference books overwhelm students with their encyclopedic nature and high prices, but Dr. Clouse's glossary is a compact book with a price that's friendly to the student budget (less than ten dollars in the U.S. market for both the e-book and paperback versions). Each word is thoughtfully defined and cross-referenced, and each is given its proper taxonomic context based on the latest scientific studies. At the beginning there is a guide to Latin and Greek plurals and root words, with examples from invertebrates, and there are easily understood pronunciation guides for unfamiliar words. At the end there is a summary of synonyms and near-synonyms, as well as references for further reading.

Dr. Clouse received his master's degree in zoology from the University of Florida and his doctorate in biology from Harvard University. He has published scientific articles on the behavior, ecology, systematics, biogeography, and genetics of various invertebrate animals, including wasps, ants, flies, sea cucumbers, and harvestmen, as well as studies on malaria and certain gene families in plants. He has traveled on expeditions to Micronesia, New Guinea, Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and various areas in the United States, including the Pacific Northwest, the Florida Everglades, and the Southern Appalachians. His expeditions have been sponsored by Harvard University, the American Museum of Natural History, and National Geographic.

The book is available on Amazon or directly from the printer, CreateSpace. Further information is available at http://counselorbooks.com.
