By: Rotary Club of Flagler Beach Hundreds of cyclists from all over the state of Florida will choose from 16 mile, 24 mile, 40 mile, 66 mile or 100 mile tours. The entry fee is a tax deductible donation to the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach. Pre-registration is available at: flaglerbeachrotary.org. Promotion code CFVIP10 will save $10 on registration. Registration will also take place at the Veteran's Memorial Park in Flagler Beach on April 30 from 5 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 30th. This is will be a Participant Party including a pasta dinner, beer, soft drinks and dessert. Twisted Vibes will be performing. Cyclists will be able to pick up their event tee shirt and event items as well. PC Bike will provide SAG assistance along the tour. Safety vehicles travel along the tour to assist cyclists and help with their equipment. Local businesses like Craig Flagler Palm Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Kohl's Cares, Attorney Gail Lampert and Walgreens sponsor the rest stops along the tour routes providing refreshments and food for the cyclists. The first 300 participants will receive an event tee shirt as a thank you for supporting the Rotary Club. At the end of the tour lunch will be served and is included in the price of registration. Daytona Beverage and S.R. Perrott is donating the beer and Coke Cola is sponsoring the water. On Saturday, April 30th there is a FREE 40 mile ride starting at the Flagler Beach Historical Museum at 8 a.m. Registration is required. Go to flaglerbeachrotary.org and click on Cycle Flagler. The goal of the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach is to raise funds for local scholarships and charitable organizations needing support in Flagler County. Each year the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach donates funds to Rotary International and their END POLIO NOW campaign. Rotary is celebrating 30 years of globally fighting Polio! In 1988 365,000 new children where paralyzed alone. In 2015 there were only a few dozen reported cases. All countries are Polio free with the exception of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Rotary will not stop until this disease is eradicated, possibly in our lifetime.
