La Trobe University, Australia, Celebrates 20thAnniversary with LSR College, Delhi University!

DELHI, India - April 4, 2016 - PRLog -- : La Trobe University is a multi-campus university in Victoria, Australia and has been one of Australia's pioneering universities for forty nine years. 20 years of Partnership with Lady Sri Ram College  This student and staff exchange agreement provided opportunity to both students and staff from each University to visit the other and learn from inter-exchange program.

La Trobe University (LTU), Australia's Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jane Long, head senior delegation from the university is in India to celebrate 20^th Anniversary of La Trobe University's Partnership with LSR College, Delhi University. Also present was Mr. Kelly Smith, Pro Vice Chancellor International, La Trobe University. The aim is to further enhance the existing relationship between the two leading educational institutes.

It's an on-going exchange program (since 1996). To celebrate the 20 years of partnership, La Trobe and LSR has signed a MoU for a La Trobe funded Professional Development Program for one of LSR's academic staff member. The visiting academic from LSR will be working with LTU staff and students for that one month during the visit to La Trobe University.

La Trobe also announced introduction of Post Graduate Excellence Award, which is available to students enrolling in PG - Business, Engineering and I.T with a criteria:-

·   Students to attain 70% or more in their Undergraduate degree.

·  No cap on these scholarships.

Furthermore, La Trobe University also offers several Scholarships to help students with their tuition. Appended below are different types of scholarships.

Regional Campus Scholarship  The scholarship provides AUD$5,000 for tuition fees
Academic Excellence Scholarship  The scholarship is between AUD$10,000-$20,000 towards tuition fees and is paid equally across the first two semesters of the course
La Trobe International Student Scholarship  The scholarship provides up to AUD$9,500 for tuition fees

Past Achievements

La Trobe University signed MOU with a leading Indian Premier League Cricket team [IPL] "Kings XI Punjab  In Sept 2014, La Trobe University signed an MOU with the leading Indian Premier League Cricket team [IPL] "Kings XI Punjab" in the presence of the earlier Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

Under the MOU, La Trobe Sport Management students worked as interns with the team during the IPL season (April to June 2015) and staff from the La Trobe Centre for Sport and Social Impact had conducted range of research projects to assist Kings XI Punjab with their marketing and broader business strategy.

7 of LTU's students came to India in 2015 to work with KXIP under this arrangement. Also two of their leading researchers from Sport management visited India to conduct research project with them.

This year in 2016, 5 students would come to India to work with KXIP under this arrangement.

La Trobe University choice of Indian Bollywood Industry for shooting!  La Trobe University was the choice for the setting of some scenes in the feature film, Salaam Namaste, (directed by Yash Chopra) released in September 2005 starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta.

Shri Amitabh Bachchan Scholarship  In 2014, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan visited and presented La Trobe graduate Roshan Kumar with the Shri Amitabh Bachchan Scholarship, valued at up to A$200,000 over 4 years.

The scholarship will be presented every 4 years by Mr. Bachchan to an Indian citizen to develop a thesis related to media, digital technology and communication.
