AIR+ Smart Mask Wins Coveted Product Design at Red Dot Award 2016

SINGAPORE - March 31, 2016 - PRLog -- Singapore-designed Air+ Smart Mask, by ST Engineering subsidiary Innosparks Pte Ltd, received one of the most prestigious international design awards, the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016. The winning product, which consists of a protective mask and a micro ventilator, won over 41 international jury members with its breakthrough innovation, creativity and functionality.

The AIR⁺ Smart Mask is the world's first respiratory mask to offer superior protection and comfort for mask wearers through its three innovations - mask sizes in small, medium and large designed to fit both adults and children above seven years old; a built-in smart valve to improve the ease and speed in which exhaled air could be vented out from the mask; as well as the micro ventilator, which when used with the Smart Mask, eliminates the unpleasant build-up of heat, moisture and carbon dioxide that occurs within a conventional mask after prolonged use.

With more than 17,000 entries each year, Red Dot Award is one of the most respected design competitions in the world and is the revered international seal of outstanding design quality.  A total of 1,304 winners were selected from over 5,000 products from 57nations.

In addition to the Red Dot Award, the recent accolades, local and international, for the Air+ Smart Mask included:

• Editor's Choice and Reader's Choice for the Most Innovative Product in The Straits Times Digital Awards 2016 (February 2016)
• iF Design Award, an international award for high design quality with excellent standards in finishing and workmanship (January 2016)
• Design of the Year at the President's Design Award (December 2015)

Certified to meet both European- and American-approved levels of filtering and hygiene protection, the Air+ Smart Mask is now sold in Singapore, Korea and Taiwan.
