Follow on Google News | 5th Annual Junior Achievement of the High Plains Community BreakfastBy: Junior Achievement of the High Plains Junior Achievement of the High Plains was brought to Amarillo by a group of local bankers who recognized a need for more financial education for students. Its purpose is to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise and understand business and economics to improve the quality of their lives. The organization started with 497 students in AISD and currently serves over 3,300 students in both AISD and CISD schools. Students learn financial topics such as budgeting, saving, the importance of establishing credit and how to minimize debt. Business volunteers from within the community lead the classes. The community breakfast will serve as a fundraiser for Junior Achievement, which is the fastest growing non-profit economic education organization in the world.
