Spring Time Meets Swing Time at Carry Out Cafe's Gallery

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. - March 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Carry Out Cafe & Catering is featuring "Swing Time," a solo exhibition of jazz paintings and more by Amesbury artist Renee Schneider during March and April. A free Artist Reception will be held on Sunday, April 3^rd  from 2 to 4 p.m. at Carry Out Cafe at 155 State St. in Newburyport. The public is invited to come meet the artist, see the exhibition, and enjoy appetizers and beverages.

"Renee's art is an eclectic mix of acrylic painting and mixed media. We just love her whimsical style and vibrant use of color. This jazz series visually captures the movement, rhythm and joy of making music. It makes your toes tap and heart soar," said Paula Simpson, owner of Carry Out Cafe & Catering. "Just like cooking, jazz embraces improvisation, taking an element from here and a pinch from there to create something pleasing to share with others."

The series in inspired by her husband Mark, a musician who is currently the Principal Trombone of the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra. He has performed in a wide selection of jazz, big band, orchestral, and musical organizations throughout northern New England.

Ms. Schneider has a BFA in Graphic Design, and a Master's of Education in Creative Art & Learning. She has worked as a graphic artist and also as a kindergarten teacher for several years. Now, combining her love of art and teaching, she owns and operates Colorful Kids in Amesbury, providing private art lessons to children while she continues to develop her own art.

The paintings on display are the original illustrations for her first published children's book, also called Swing Time. Autographed copies of the book will be available for sale during the artist reception on April 3^rd.

Because the Swing Time jazz series is so dear to her husband, she is not selling the original artwork. Instead, music and art lovers can order any of the images to be digitally printed by Newburyport Sign. "I want to share with the world, the passion and love I put into my creations," said Ms. Schneider, who paints and teaches from her studio at 14 Cedar Street in Amesbury, MA.
