By: Ocean Exchange
SAVANNAH, Ga. - March 21, 2016 - PRLog -- Ocean Exchange Launches 2016 Call for Solutions. Register to Compete for the $100,000 Gulfstream® Navigator Award and the $100,000 WWL Orcelle® Award

The Ocean Exchange proudly announces the launch of its sixth annual global competition for the 2016 Gulfstream Navigator Award of $100,000 and the 2016 Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics Orcelle Award of $100,000.

The theme for the 2016 competition is TRANSLATING SUSTAINABILITY INTO VALUE.  The Ocean Exchange review panel is seeking Solutions Inspiring Action: scalable, sustainable and global innovations that are generating economic growth and increasing productivity while reducing waste and the use of nature's resources. This year, the awards process focuses on renewable energy, zero emissions and new technologies that can support sustainable solutions and also gives efficiencies in logistics and supply chains - on land and on the ocean. Each applicant will be asked to submit a written statement that describes how their solution contributes directly or indirectly to resilient oceans.

"Gulfstream's sustainability efforts align with the broader business aviation industry's goals of reducing emissions," said Ira Berman, senior vice president, Administration and General Counsel, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.  "One of the ways we are doing that is through our agreement to obtain renewable fuels for daily flight operations at our Savannah headquarters.  The 2016 Ocean Exchange Solutions award allows us to expand renewable energy research and development in the hopes of creating further positive outcomes across industries."

Anna Larsson, VP Sustainability at Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, comments:
"Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics recognize that our activities affect the environment, hence we are focused on high impact solutions. Climate change is a reality, and the $100,000 Orcelle Awards program is an investment in driving positive change industry-wide. The return is a future for our business that's commercially and environmentally sustainable."

To enter the competition, register your solution in the Ocean Exchange Gallery by 11:59 p.m. (GMT) on May 17, 2016. Register by completing a pre-screening application through http://www.oceanexchange.org.  Immediately after the deadline, Ocean Exchange's international solutions panel of multi-disciplinary experts will begin reviewing all registered applications to select fifteen Solutions Inspiring Action to compete for monetary awards. The chosen organizations will be invited to present at the Ocean Exchange, November 9-11, 2016 in Savannah, Georgia in the USA. At the event, invited delegates will select the winners of the $100,000 Gulfstream Navigator Award and the $100,000 Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics Orcelle Award.
