Ohio Dance Theatre Announces 2016 Youth Auditions for The Nutcracker

Ohio Dance Theatre Announces for 2016 The Nutcracker

Oberlin- Ohio Dance Theatre will hold auditions for youth dancers who would like to participate in Ohio Dance Theatre's production of The Nutcracker. Auditions will be held Sunday, April 10 in Oberlin at Ohio Dance Theatre's studies located at 39 S. Main Street. This is an open audition and all dancers are welcome regardless of studio affiliation. The Nutcracker will be presented at the Hoke Theatre at Stocker Arts Center, December 16-18, 2016.

"Ohio Dance Theatre's Nutcracker 2015 performances were sold out," said Artistic Director and choreographer of the production, Denise Gula. The Nutcracker is somewhat of a rite of passage for all young dancers and this is an exciting opportunity for them to join in the excitement and experience the County's only fully professionally staged production of this holiday tradition." Youth dancers chosen will share the stage with ODT and Verb Ballets professional dancers.

Advanced dancers ages 15-18 will audition at 1 pm; Intermediate level dancers ages 12-14 audition at 2:15 and beginning dancers ages 6-11 at 3:15pm. Dancers should arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Advanced dancers should bring pointe shoes.
