CARLISLE, Pa. - March 17, 2016 - PRLog -- It all started in 2001 as the Carlisle GM Nationals became yet another great event weekend on the Carlisle Events annual season schedule.  Now, as the weekend celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2016, guests from around the world converge on Carlisle to honor all GM makes and models, from pre-War antiques to the modern 6th Gen Camaro.

The show runs June 17-19, an all-new date and weekend that, at least regionally, is wide open.  This date allows attendees and enthusiasts the freedom of knowing that they won't be missing any other automotive events by coming to Carlisle and in fact, can celebrate Father's Day with dad on Sunday of event weekend.  Before Father's Day, however, GM Nationals guests can expect cool cars and special guests too.  As part of the Toronado and Hurst/Olds displays, there's a rare, one-off car, known as the Fouranado, being placed between the two.  This hybrid ride mixes the best elements of both Hurst Performance and the Toronado, and it's the only one of its kind.

A special display wouldn't be all that special if there were not industry experts to support it, and 2016 provides just that too, with Toronado designer David North and Hurst engineer Don Glover coming to town.  Those two will be joined by Hurst historian Dennis Kirban for seminars throughout the weekend.

Not only is the 2016 date new and fresh, so is the Solid Lifter Showroom.  This display is up to its eighth edition and will once again showcase rare GM products.  Many of the rides featured have never been at Carlisle before and it's all new on-grounds location makes it even easier to access and check out.

Carlisle is also happy to offer the cure for anyone who has a need for speed.  Throughout the weekend there are autocross opportunities with rides and open runs as well as the third annual Autocross Shootout.  The rides are backed by UMI Performance as is the shootout contest.   It doesn't matter if it's a car brought to the show by an attendee or one offered by UMI, FAST is the four-letter F-word of the weekend.

Autocross isn't the only activity taking place at the show.  The swap meet hosts a frenzy of parts buying and treasure hunting, there are installs taking place, an LSX engine swap display in Building T, burnouts on Saturday presented by SLP and an all-new Pin-Up contest, replacing the standard beauty contest that's adorned the Red 102.3 stage in years past.

Finally, the weekend wraps with Dads and Doughnuts on Sunday.  With Father's Day falling on Sunday of show weekend, this is a perfect opportunity to spend a day with dad, plus enjoy cool cars and tasty treats along the way. Dad can enjoy a souvenir photograph with the kids, and the youngsters are eligible for FREE monster truck rides, all courtesy of Carlisle Events. Ultimately, the weekend welcomes a large group of car enthusiasts, over 1,000 cars of all generations, hundreds of 5th and 6th Gen Camaros, vendors, experts and is fun for the entire family.  Complete details on the show can be found at www.CarlisleEvents.com or by calling 717-243-7855.
