WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - March 17, 2016 - PRLog -- Tampa, FL - The Pet Professional Guild (PPG) has announced the appointment of a new steering committee member to its Singapore chapter and a new membership coordinator to its home base in the United States, serving members worldwide.

Barbara Wright, an honors graduate of the Academy for Dog Trainers at the San Francisco SPCA with Jean Donaldson, recently moved from Sydney, Australia to Singapore and has joined PPG Singapore's steering committee. Wright has completed the Certificate of Excellence - Living and Learning with Animals with psychology professor Susan Friedman, a pioneer in the application of Applied Behavior Analysis to captive and companion animals, and the Life Skills for Puppies course at Lincoln University, England in 2014, as well as running her own dog training and behavior business in Sydney for 10 years.

In the United States, meanwhile, Sharon Nettles has taken on the role of membership coordinator to assist with management of PPG's rapidly expanding member base as well as some of the daily administration tasks. She will be the main point of contact for member enquiries with immediate effect. Nettles is a certified pet care technician who previously worked as a manager at an Oxford, Mississippi-based pet resort and currently fosters dogs for a rescue group.

"I am excited to be joining PPG as a membership coordinator," said Nettles. "My duties will include managing memberships, hosting webinars, and assisting PPG members in any way that I can." Added Wright: "I look forward to helping educate a large community of responsible, respectful and highly educated animal trainers and pet owners. It is my goal to ensure that humane, science and results based methods when dealing with our pets become the default and norm in Singapore and so we become a positive example of animal welfare to other Asian countries. PPG Singapore will grow into a platform that ensures that people seeking animal training advice will get the most up-to-date and correct information, while strengthening a happy relationship with their pets."

PPG continues to gain momentum as the go-to organization for highly skilled, knowledgeable and educated force-free pet professionals who understand the science of behavior and how it applies to animal behavior and training. Membership is rising worldwide, more international chapters are due to come online and the organization's second educational summit will take place in Tampa, Florida on November 7-11, 2016 following on from the resounding success of the inaugural event last year.
