Former US Army Officer Recognized by Georgia Senate

Retired US Army Officer, now award nominated Screenplay writer, Director and Producer Terrence "Ty" Manns was honored by the Georgia Senate at the state Capitol building for his family/faith-based film THE WISH - A Story of Hope, Faith & Generosity.
 
ATLANTA - March 17, 2016 - PRLog -- "The Wish," written and directed by Ty Manns is a film created in partnership with Donate Life America, CME Films, LLC and SAVE1000™ about a beloved high school teacher's struggles while awaiting a lifesaving kidney transplant. The film was produced to entertain, educate, inform and inspire its audiences to register as organ & tissue donors. Currently more than 123,000 men, women and children are awaiting organ transplants to save their lives. Thousands more are in need of tissue and cornea transplants to restore their mobility and sight.

Georgia Senate Resolution #1080 was introduced and presented by State Senator Donzella James,   representing Metropolitan Atlanta's 35th District of Georgia.  Senator James spoke of "The Wish's" impact and its relevance to her life. Senator James' son was killed in fatal car accident days after he registered as an organ donor. His organs would save eight people, seven of which are still living today. Her husband sadly died years after the accident while waiting a kidney transplant.

Ty spoke in the Senate Chamber about the importance and  critical need for organ and tissue donors, specifically within the African-American, Hispanic and other minority communities.  Ty also spoke to the Chamber members about his upcoming film, Day 1… Be Strong.  An emotional, educational and inspirational feature film about Domestic Abuse, Teenage Bullying and Teenage Suicide.  Day 1… Be Strong have received official endorsements from National Domestic Violence organizations - The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and The National Domestic Violence Hotline and from National Bully awareness organizations - Stand Strong USA, The Quinton Aaron Foundation and Nationally renowned  Bully awareness speaker, Brooks Gibbs.  Day 1… Be Strong is expected to start production the summer of 2016 in Smyrna, Georgia.

Ty was accompanied in the Chamber today by lead actors Reece Odum and Blue Kimble, and Producer Jeff Searcy and Lifelink of Georgia representative Bobby Howard.  Also honored today was Producer Angel Terron who conveyed her prayers, well-wishes and support from her home in Florida.
