MANCHESTER, N.H. - March 17, 2016 - PRLog -- In October 2015, New Hampshire writer/filmmaker Tim Morgan brought a talented team together to produce his first animated short, a send-up of slasher horror called In the Dark.

Morgan is proud to announce the short is an official selection of the Anim8 International Animation Film Festival and the Toronto Film Week Film Festival. "The whole team is really excited about this," says Morgan. "Our festival run isn't over yet, but this is encouraging."

The short follows three coeds spending the night in a haunted house when a masked slasher makes an appearance. After a call to 911 goes awry, the three are left to their own devices to stop the killer.

Morgan co-wrote the short with his college friend Chris Parent. The short features three talented New England actors: Miranda Evans (Chilling Visions: Five Senses of Fear) plays ringleader Blue Eyes; independent filmmaker and pillar of the Boston artistic community Sophia Cacciola (Ten, Magnetic, Blood of the Tribades) plays smart coed Brown Eyes; and classically trained actress Kimberley Miller (The Realm, Noises Off) plays innocent coed Green Eyes.

The short was recorded at NH Tunes in Manchester, New Hampshire. After the dialog was recorded, Morgan took to editing it and animating to the track. "I had a very clear idea how I thought things should look," says Morgan. "It was a lot of work, but it was a lot of fun." Having experience making live action movies and working as a software developer helped speed production.

Over the next several months, In the Dark will be making festival rounds and can't be released to the public - yet. The plan is to release the full short on Morgan's YouTube channel after the festival run is over - the expected release is Halloween 2016. A trailer is included on Morgan's web site.

Morgan spends his days working as a software developer and his nights writing and making movies. For more information on Morgan, please visit his web site: http://www.timmorgan.us
