Dumbo Dorm Productions announces launch of doosh/off™, the card game for devil's advocates

NEW YORK - March 24, 2016 - PRLog -- Dumbo Dorm Productions, the creator of the card game, "doosh/off™", today announced it will launch its Kickstarter campaign on March 29th. To add to the excitement, doosh/off has been named as a semi-finalist in the 2016 Columbia Venture Competition. The card game, popular among devil's advocates, stirs conversations between players about what they love and what they think is, well . . . dooshy.

The game's ultimate goal is to ignite impassioned discussions about diverse topics beyond water cooler talk about the latest TV show, and for people to re-learn how to debate, converse, and respectfully disagree.

doosh/off (http://dooshoff.com)™ started off as a joke about Canadian pop stars between co-founders Jon Beardsley and Doug Andrews. Originally conceived as an app, the team pivoted to a card game when Seisei Tatebe-Goddu, a strategy consultant with a background in conflict resolution, joined the team.

"We wanted to leverage the current trend of a nostalgia for days long past, returning to objects and experiences that are perhaps more analog, tactile, or vintage in nature. We also knew that apps fail without a community behind them, so we wanted to focus on first building a community of people who were tired of being on their phones all the time," said Tatebe-Goddu.

Now, after playing doosh/off™ with nearly 200 people, and with 10 active dooshbassadors promoting the game in the US, India, Middle East, and Europe, the team is confident that they have a strong message to spread to a wide audience.

Co-founder Jon Beardsley, who was a founding member of ad-tech company Pontiflex, added, "You don't need to look beyond what's happening in American politics today to understand how important it is for people to be able to think critically, articulate their positions, and respond to different perspectives. doosh/off is fun, but also compels you to use your brain, which was our motivation when we created it."

doosh/off™ will launch on Kickstarter on March 29 with the full art and design complete. The Kickstarter campaign will feature the game at $30, including free shipping to individuals in the US, as well as free bulk shipping to a limited number of backers in the rest of the world. The team believes doosh/off will empower players to deal with that pesky, crazy, stubborn uncle at Thanksgiving.
