NEW ORLEANS - March 11, 2016 - PRLog -- Veterans vying to become entrepreneurs will compete at the 2nd Annual VetLaunch "From Combat to Careers" Accelerator Pitch Competition presented by King Krebs & Jurgens. The event, part of New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, will be held on Monday, March 14th, at The Chicory on S. Peters from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

Eleven veterans, part of VetLaunch's Class of 2016, will present their business models to a team of judges with the hopes of earning a $5,000 prize package to help start their venture. Each candidate will have three minutes to present their concept followed by another five minutes to field questions about their business model. The judges will convene after all pitches are completed and select a competition winner the same day.

Featured judges of the competition include:

• Peyton Bush, Bollinger LLC, CIO
• Kirk Coco, Nola Brewery, CEO
• Sammye Pisani, Self Employed, Personal Trainer
• Bob Rubin, Rev Motorsports, Owner
• David Strauss, King Krebs & Jurgens, Member

While the event is free and open to the public, attendees are asked to RSVP at www.noew.org.

VetLaunch (vetlaunch.org), a non-profit organization devoted to providing veterans the resources to effectively make the change from military to civilian life, offers assistance from business start-up help to job training and placement.

VetLaunch is based at Landing Zone (lznola.org), a new 20,000 square foot co-working space and small business incubator in the Lower Garden District. Landing Zone focuses on being a central hub for entrepreneurs to grow and develop their business through its growing services and professional networks.
