SANTA MONICA, Calif. - March 11, 2016 - PRLog -- Bowers Museum today officially welcomed the highly anticipated arrival of Mummies of the World: The Exhibition. Bowers Museum officials, representatives and supporters including Jay Burress, President and Chief Executive of Visit Anaheim, were on-hand to greet and officially receive the collection of more than 150 artifacts, real human and animal mummies from across the globe.

To ensure the safe journey of these priceless mummies and artifacts, the nationally recognized traveling exhibit was escorted to the Bowers Museum by California State Troopers as well as a private security team. Upon arrival, Marcus Corwin, President of American Exhibitions Inc. personally delivered the collection's rights to Scott Dunagan, Bowers Museum Vice President of External Affairs, through a ceremonial transfer. A press conference followed to discuss the impact of Mummies of the World: The Exhibition and preserving cultures for future generations to study and marvel.

"It's interesting to think about how the mummies have traveled more after their death than in life and we're excited to finally introduce them to Orange County," said Marcus Corwin, President of American Exhibitions Inc. "And hailing from civilizations in Europe, South America and Ancient Egypt, we're excited to continue sharing all of the diverse and exciting insights we've discovered."

Now as the mummies have begun unloading, curators and exhibition staff will work day and night to complete the installation of the display. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through one of the most interesting and rare mummy collections in existence. Each gallery holds its own unique stories, guiding visitors through a 4,500-year discovery of mummification from across the globe. Guests will be able to observe and study the natural and intentional practices of mummification beginning March 19.

"It's an honor to host Mummies of the World and present some of our history's richest and most fascinating curiosities to Orange County," said Scott Dunagan, Vice President of External Affairs at Bowers Museum. "Bowers Museum has always been dedicated to exploring the world around us through science and art and this collection makes an incredible addition to our displays and our community."

Mummies of the World will be on display at the Bowers Museum, located at 2002 N

Main St, Santa Ana, CA 92706, debuting March 19, 2016 through September 5, 2016. Tickets are now on-sale. Advanced reservations are recommended. For more information, please visit
