For National Poetry Month: Two Poets Develop A Poet Tarot App for Creative People

SEATTLE - March 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Two Sylvias Press has created The Poet Tarot App, available for both iPhone and Android phones. Based on the acclaimed The Poet Tarot & Guidebook: A Deck of Creative Exploration (which began as a successful Kickstarter project and has since been featured in O, The Oprah Magazine), The Poet Tarot App helps writers, artists, or anyone working on an artistic project (or simply living a creative life) explore the nuances of their creative process.

The app was designed by the cofounders of the press, Kelli Russell Agodon and Annette Spaulding-Convy to help other creatives find new insight into their creative work. No familiarity with tarot decks is required for this app--simply choose a card and select "View Meaning" to receive direction on any creative project you might be working on. Or choose a card each day for a dose of creative guidance. There is no wrong way to use The Poet Tarot App. "We wanted to create an app that's inspirational, visually pleasing, and easy to use; I believe we did that here. It's creativity for people on the go," said Agodon. "I think we're the first small press to release a product as an app. Part of our philosophy at Two Sylvias is to integrate a vintage classical style with modern technology. The Poet Tarot App blends the old with new, providing a literary experience on a high-tech device," said Spaulding-Convy.

The Poet Tarot App features 30 well-known poets. This virtual deck follows the traditional tarot deck with a few variations. The major arcana is made up of poets--Edgar Allan Poe makes a delicious Devil (XV), while Emily Dickinson is an obvious Hermit (IX). The suit cards have been tweaked to represent the stages of the creative process: Muses (Inspiration), Quills (Creation), Mentors (Revision), and Letterpresses (Completion).

With beautifully illustrated cards and detailed explanations, The Poet Tarot App allows you to take creativity with you and inspiration is always at your fingertips.
