KINGSPORT, Tenn. - March 9, 2016 - PRLog -- Susan Lanigan, Chairman of the Tennessee Education Lottery (TEL) Board of Directors has appointed KOSBE Executive Director, Aundrea Y. Wilcox, to the Advisory Council on Minority Business Participation.  The Council holds quarterly meetings to review the TEL’s progress, and to discuss, solicit, analyze and present the views and concerns of minority business owners throughout the state.

According to Rebecca Hargrove, President and CEO, “We believe that Ms. Wilcox’s professional and business expertise will further enhance the effectiveness of this very committed group of volunteers.”

It is the policy and intent of the TEL to achieve the greatest level of minority participation possible taking into account the total number of retailers and vendors, including subcontractors.

KOSBE is the Kingsport Affiliate Office of the TSBDC at ETSU. The TSBDC Network is comprised of 15 locations throughout the State of Tennessee, whose primary function is to provide counseling services and educational opportunities to entrepreneurs and “for profit” new and existing small businesses.

Through its affiliation with TSBDC at ETSU, the Kingsport Affiliate Office has access to additional and unique resources and programs of a major regional university, enhancing services available to client businesses as well as certified TSBDC counselors.

In partnership with Tennessee Small Business Development Centers (TSBDC) at ETSU, KOSBE can more effectively serve the needs of entrepreneurs and small businesses.

The cooperative agreement between KOSBE and East Tennessee State University is partially funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). SBA’s funding is not an endorsement of any products, opinions or services. SBA funded programs are extended to the public on a non-discriminatory basis. Additional funding is provided by the Tennessee Board of Regents and the state of Tennessee.
