MIAMI - March 7, 2016 - PRLog -- Benjamin & Alfonso v. VHU Express, Inc., et al., a lawsuit involving allegations of unpaid minimum wages, overtime wages, and violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), has been filed as a collective action in federal court in Florida. The Plaintiffs in this action, represented by Brian Pollock of FairLaw Firm, are Local Delivery Drivers who claim that while delivering packages for Amazon.com, they did not receive payment for several weeks of work and also did not receive proper overtime compensation for working more than 40 hours in a workweek.

In this putative collective action lawsuit, the Local Delivery Drivers allege that VHU Express, Inc., Lisa Bythewood, and Craig Bythewood, violated, and continue to violate, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), by failing to properly compensate them for overtime hours worked and by failing to pay them at least a minimum wage for all of the hours they worked.

Benjamin & Alonso v. VHU Express Inc. (Case Number: 16-CV-20642-KING/TORRES), was filed in the Southern District of Florida. The presiding judge is Judge James Lawrence King. The FairLaw Firm intends to ask Judge King to certify the case as a "collective action" so that it can proceed on behalf of drivers who worked for VHU Express and who were subject to the same pay practices.

FairLaw Firm overtime attorney Brian H. Pollock (http://www.fairlawattorney.com), is representing the Local Delivery Drivers in an effort to recover unpaid minimum wages for their unpaid work and unpaid overtime wages for their unpaid overtime wages.  According to a federal law known as the FLSA, non-exempt employees are entitled to receive at least a minimum wage for all hours worked and time-and-a-half pay for all overtime hours (hours worked over forty) in a given workweek.

All unpaid overtime claims filed by Drivers who currently work for Handy Wash and/or Zuni or who worked for Handy Wash and/or Zuni as drivers or independent contractor drivers within the last three (3) years anywhere in Florida, and who were not paid proper minimum and/or overtime wages are eligible to join the case.  For more information about Benjamin & Alonso v.
