Dragnet Meets Silence of the Lambs on the US-Mexico Border

TUCSON, Ariz. - March 6, 2016 - PRLog -- Mark Sadler’s latest release, Kettle of Vultures, is a gritty, raw, explicit Southwestern tale of border noir. A riveting story full of twists, intrigue and non-stop action, this first novel in a planned trilogy, follows Tucson Police Detective, Nate Duarte, and his partner Hector Martinez, as they track a kidnapper turned serial –killer in the Western outskirts of Tucson, deep in the Sierrita Mountains.

Duarte, however, has his own private battle to fight. The offspring of an illegal immigrant and a border guard he is currently intent on tracking and catching his parents’ murderer, a man who has risen through the ranks to be the new head of the Sonoran cartel. Ramon Adolfo ‘El Perro Guapo’ de la Garza Sanchez rose from the coyote who delivered Duarte’s mother across the border - where she was a political refugee from El Salvador forced to flee when her cousin, Jose Napoleon Duarte, heir to the presidency, was exiled to Venezuela - to the cartel’s enforcer and finally ‘el jefe.’

Throw in a lost half-sister, who is a street walker in underbelly of the desert city of Tucson, and you have a fast-paced story where international politics, deviant behavior, and one seriously deranged killer meet in the savage Sonoran Desert. Sadler walks you through the streets of Tucson in a way to make the City another character in this wild ride of a debut novel.

Inspired by actual events, Kettle of Vultures is the result of the author’s imagination based on the premise that the President of El Salvador had a second-cousin who worked as his secretary. The story walks us through the Detective Nate Duarte’s rescue from Mexico as a child, his obsession to avenge his mother and his commitment to justice. He’s a powerful character and is poised to be a fantastic hero in future novels.

This is Sadler’s second novel and is published by indie publisher Moonshine Cove Publishing www.moonshinecovepublishing.com, where it can be ordered by all booksellers and available at all regular bookselling websites for the individual reader.
