NEW YORK - March 5, 2016 - PRLog -- Sudan president, Omar al-Bashir, is wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. Several of his employees face similar charges.

Friday, March 4th was the 7th anniversary of the ICC issuing the first of two arrest warrants for President Omar al-Bashir.

To commemorate this historic event, a rally by hundreds of Sudanese was held in New York City, near the United Nations.

This anniversary arrives while the Sudan government-led violence against ethnic - black African civilians has been increasing and worsening. The delivery of essential humanitarian aid to them is prevented on an ongoing basis as part of the strategy of genocide:

1. Camps for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and refugees are attacked and/or dismantled, leaving residents defenseless and homeless

2. Massive attacks have increased in the Jebel Marra area of Darfur since January 15, 2016

3. Villages are burned in El Geneina, the capital of Western Darfur State

4. Crimes against humanity are rampant in the Blue Nile, the Nuba Mountains, and in South Kordofan

5. Dams are built in Sudan in specific locations designed to eliminate Nubian cultural sites and drive people from their land.
