MINSTEAD, U.K. - March 4, 2016 - PRLog -- RMS, along with territory partner Portivity (http://www.portivity.de/) attended EuroCIS 2016 (http://www.eurocis-tradefair.com/) from 23 – 25 February, the leading trade fair for retail technology in Düsseldorf, Germany - with two halls full of the latest retail technology, this was one of the 'must attend' events on the Retail IT calendar and this year was no exception - when the show closed its doors on the final day some 10,400 trade visitors had passed through its doors - 18% more than the previous year.

In the show itself, 411 exhibitors from 29 countries took part in the event taking up 10,800 m2 of exhibition space. The international visitor audience that travelled to Düsseldorf came from 87 different countries with the top five countries of origin after Germany being from Benelux, the UK, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.

The RMS and Portivity teams were kept busy over the 3 days as visitors from across Europe and beyond were keen to hear how RMS is helping more than 80 leading brands and retailers manage their distributed businesses better and understand how their new Metro (http://www.retail-manager.com/what-is-metro/) product can benefit retail, hospitality and healthcare teams across their Head Office, on-line and in-store operations.

The event showcased a host of different technologies however it was the range of technology that impressively highlighted how on-line retail has really moved forward with the overriding theme being very much about the networking of channels. Already now, but even more so in the future, it is the shopper alone who decides where, when and via what channel they wish to gather information on products and make purchases – whether this be by Smartphone, Tablet, PC or in the store itself. This is why all solutions that support retailers in the implementation and support of their omnichannel strategies – i.e. their dialogue with customers across all channels – were at the focus of EuroCIS 2016. These primarily included mobile solutions – for supporting staff in-store, enabling interaction with customer Smartphones or using mobile payment and beyond this, visitors were also interested in topics such as business analytics, cloud-based solutions and, as always, issues like self-checkout and self-scanning.

If you missed EuroCIS then be sure to drop in and see RMS at the forthcoming Retail Business Technology Expo in Olympia (http://www.retail-manager.com/retail-business-technology-...), London on the 9th and 10th March, Stand 970 where RMS will celebrate the formal launch of Metro (http://www.retail-manager.com/metro/) whilst also announcing multiple new client wins (http://www.retail-manager.com/retailers-embrace-rms-latest-brand-and-products/). We look forward to seeing you.
