NEW YORK - March 3, 2016 - PRLog -- Asset TV’s Courtney Woodworth joined Jonathan Corpina, Senior Managing Partner of Meridian Equity Partners, at the New York Stock Exchange to talk about the recent market rally and the possibility for stabilization in the market.

While both the S&P and Dow are down 4.2% since the beginning of the year, the most recent market rally seems to finally be a stabilization point to kick off a slow but steady growth heading into March.

So far this year, any kind of movement in the market, whether up or down, has been viewed with a sense of uncertainty by many investors, as there has been no indication whether or not those movements would be a continuing pattern.  However, with this latest up-swing, it seems that the market might be starting to rebound in a more permanent manner.

On Monday, the Dow Jones rose 300 points along with many various sectors.  As Jonathan points out, the banking and tech sectors both saw significant gains, as well as basic materials and the conglomerates due to the move in oil.   While many factors have contributed to this recent momentum, Jonathan points to economic data and the earnings season as two important influences.

But while investors remain hopeful that this market upturn will continue, Jonathan cautions that there needs to be a few more sessions of green before investors can be convinced that the market has stabilized.  As he points out, “As much as we like to see the market up 300 points, I don’t think that’s very healthy for our market to move that much in one day, and conversely on the downside too…Investors should be happy, but it is just the first day of the month.”
