LAKELAND, Fla. - March 3, 2016 - PRLog -- $3.2 million dollars!  That’s the total for Carlisle Auctions’ most recent showcase in Lakeland, Florida.  The Winter Florida AutoFest weekend ran four days, and for two of those four days, the grounds at the SUN ‘n FUN complex were bustling with collector car enthusiasts looking to snag their first or next classic!  With over 400 cars consigned to the sold out auction, the record number of bidders did their best to make the auction slam his gavel as frequently as possible.

Day one of the auction was Friday, February 26 and saw nearly half of the 400+ total cross the block.  Cars throughout the auction ranged from 1920s production to modern day.  Of those rides, the top seller for Friday was a 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T.  Its sale price of $55,105 was not only the highest for day one, but fourth highest of the event.

The auction weekend also featured a record number of bidders.  Registration for bidders was exponentially up, including those who pre-registered for the auction; something historically done in person and onsite at the event.  Overall, the bidder total helped generate that $3.2 million sales total, also the best ever for a Florida based auction run by Carlisle Auctions.

Saturday helped wrapped the auction and that’s where four of the remaining top five selling cars could be found.  The fifth highest total belonged to a 1955 Thunderbird, moving for $53,500.  Fourth was the aforementioned Coronet R/T, while third and second respectively belonged to the Corvette.  The third-best selling car was a ’54, amassing $62,060, while the second top car was a ’67, coming in a $64,055.  The top selling car of the event was one from nearly 90 years ago.  Moving for $97,370 was a 1931 Chrysler Imperial Resto Mod.  All cars mentioned above, as well as those listed within the complete results list include buyers premiums.

Finally, not only did countless bidders walk away with a new piece to their collection, two guests also walked away with $1,000 as part of a daily cash giveaway.

With Carlisle Auctions done for the season in Florida, the brand turns its focus and FREE UNLESS SOLD guarantee towards its next auctions; a pair in Pennsylvania.  The Spring Carlisle Auction takes place April 21-22, while the Fall offering is September 29-30.  Carlisle Auctions returns to Florida for Fall Florida AutoFest and that auction starts on November 11.  Complete results for the Winter AutoFest auction as well as information on how to register as a bidder or seller can be found at www.CarlisleAuctions.com.
