In Focus Brands Announces StartUp Weekend 4 Winners

After a long, 54-hour effort to get their ideas to a tangible, business pitch, StartUp Weekend 4 at The Armory at Sage announces Magic Mount from Zach Bojanowski of SUNY-Plattsburgh as the winner

ALBANY, N.Y. - March 2, 2016 - PRLog -- From the original field of 11 ideas, 55 participants, the top 3 winners for prizes are:

1st  Magic Mount, 2nd Campus Surf and 3rd Ghana Air as announced by Amanda Matluck of In Focus Brands and Kim Frederick, Dean of Sage’s School of Management. The announcement continued: “ Without the generous support of our sponsors: Sage College’s School of Management, In Focus Brands, Revenew Intl., Panera, IFP Films, EDA Labs and Dunkin’ Donuts, we could not have held this great event nor been able to give everyone involved the deep pool of business resources throughout.”

Magic Mount was created as a mobile device accessory to create a comfortable and safe way to hold and use your device. Next steps are to work on the brand and prototype through their winning prize package supplied by In Focus Brands, EDA Labs, IFP Films and Revenew Intl.

The runner up was Campus Surf, another SUNY Plattsburgh student team, that created an online model to sell and buy books, equipment and furniture on campus that adds calendars, event announcements in a freemium environment.

Robert Manasier, facilitator and organizer of this event and Revenew Intl.’s Business Development Director plus Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Sage Colleges states: “We were very humbled by the outpouring of support from the Sage community and the local business community. Our coaches (Mark Gundrum, John Kvocka, Dan Forbush, Dayna Maniccia, Dave Borland, Eric Leander, Erik Luhrs, Paul Leo and Pam Ko), the staff, volunteers  and our judges (Tony Annese, Tim Katusha and Randy Hardy) were phenomenal and gave freely of their time and expertise.  Sage Colleges provided a great venue and resources to guarantee a success. It was very exciting to have ideas range from products to an airline which holds great promise for our future economic development. ”

The third place team from Sage Colleges, Ghana Air, created a workable pilot launch for a new air service to a growing population in the US.
