In its fifth year, this innovative conference focuses on the practical and cutting-edge issues affecting electronic information, information governance and data analytics. This year’s theme is “Respect the Past. Understand the Present. Shape the Future!”

Socha served on the conference planning board and will moderate a discussion titled “Behind Closed Doors” addressing the different approaches by law firms and corporations in handling e-discovery. Models range from creating fully staffed internal litigation support departments to outsourcing all e-discovery to technology providers and everything in between. Is there a “correct” or “best practices” model for handling e-discovery? The panel will discuss the benefits and risks of these various approaches as well as the ethical issues inherent in each.
