By: EDRM In its fifth year, this innovative conference focuses on the practical and cutting-edge issues affecting electronic information, information governance and data analytics. This year’s theme is “Respect the Past. Understand the Present. Shape the Future!” Socha served on the conference planning board and will moderate a discussion titled “Behind Closed Doors” addressing the different approaches by law firms and corporations in handling e-discovery. Models range from creating fully staffed internal litigation support departments to outsourcing all e-discovery to technology providers and everything in between. Launched in May 2005, EDRM was established to address the lack of standards and guidelines in the e-discovery market. In January 2006, EDRM published the Electronic Discovery Reference Model, followed by additional resources such as IGRM, CARRM, PSRRM, Metrics and the Talent Task Matrix. Since its launch, EDRM has comprised 401 organizations, including 196 service and software providers, 88 corporations, 76 law firms, 24 governmental entities, 12 educational institutions and 5 industry groups involved with e-discovery and information governance.
