SAN DIEGO - Feb. 29, 2016 - PRLog -- Donald Trump’s campaign has been a festival of faux pas that do not seem to negatively impact his poll numbers. Most recently, “The Donald” was lured into re-tweeting a Mussolini quote by a parody account (@ilduce2016) that mocks Trump’s campaign and compares him to the fascist dictator.  While Trump dismissed it as a non-issue, at least one Democratic presidential candidate thinks it speaks volumes.

Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente, who has built a legitimate campaign that has landed him on the ballots or in the caucuses of about 40 states without any party support, thinks the re-tweeting of the quote underlines Trump’s general insensitivity.

De La Fuente said, “Donald Trump has used hatred and insensitivity as the basis of his campaign. He’s capitalized on the fears and frustrations of many Americans, and the more outrageous he’s become, the more support he has garnered. While this might be entertaining if it were an episode of a reality TV show, let’s not forget that this man is running for President of the United States.”

When Trump was questioned about re-tweeting the quote, “It is better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as a sheep,” on NBC's Meet The Press, Trump said: "Look, Mussolini was Mussolini. It's OK to — it's a very good quote, it's a very interesting quote ... and I know who said it. But what difference does it make whether it's Mussolini or somebody else? It's certainly a very interesting quote.”

De La Fuente, an accomplished businessman like Trump and an “outside” candidate in his own right, believes Trump simply thinks he can say and do whatever he wants, a lot like Mussolini.

“Didn’t he (Trump) say he could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and he wouldn't lose voters,” asked De La Fuente. “What kind of leader says something like that?”

De La Fuente continued, “I can’t wait until he quotes Hitler. Hitler once said, ‘If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.’ That pretty much defines Trump’s campaign.”

When asked if he was jealous of Trump’s political notoriety as compared to his own, De La Fuente commented, “I would rather lose with integrity than win without it. I haven’t been handed anything in this election. I’ve earned a place on every ballot for which I’ve qualified.”

“I’m probably Trump’s worst nightmare: a successful, first-generation Hispanic American,” De La Fuente continued. “I don’t fit the demeaning little mold he created to launch his campaign. While I was born in San Diego, my family comes from Tijuana. Yet, we aren’t the rapists, murderers or drug dealers that Donald might assume,” De La Fuente said with disdain.

In a parting shot, De La Fuente said, “Trump likes to pigeonhole people into stereotypes that fit his mindset. It’s a good thing Americans aren’t judged to be as hatefully opinionated as him. And hopefully, we’ll be smart enough not to elect him President to keep it that way.”

Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente is living proof that the American Dream can be achieved by those who are inspired to pursue it. He has an amazing record of overcoming obstacles and achieving success. From being licensed by the FAA to fly single engine planes at the age of 20 to owning 28 automobile dealerships and becoming Chairman of the National Dealers Council for the third largest automobile manufacturer in the world by the age of 28, Rocky is in a league by himself.  He also created a banking network in 1982 to help address an economic crisis in Mexico and established impressive real estate holdings throughout the United States while generating thousands of new jobs along the way. Rocky holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics (Magna Cum Laude) and exudes a passion for his country and for those who seek the opportunity to fulfill their version of the American Dream.
