Unyq, Social Community for LGBT+ Teens, Launches In Full Swing

EALING, U.K. - Feb. 28, 2016 - PRLog -- A modern social community for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual teenagers has launched to the public with an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. Unyq, pronounced unique, aims to be a one of a kind social network that focusses on being the universal hub for interaction between LGBT+ teenagers and their friends and allies. Unyq connects one of the world's most emotionally vulnerable groups, LGBT+ teenagers, to other people like them from around the world, plus their own friends and allies. Unyq isn't just a discussion board, or just another social network - it supports teenagers who need it most.

Unyq's goal is to provide a better and more viable alternative to existing solutions in the space like TrevorSpace and JustLeftTheCloset.com through three main tenets - mobility and device agnosticism, real time communication and notification features, and privacy for everyone on the network to prevent being "outed". Unyq was designed from the ground up to adapt to all screens, and to be available to all users. With more and more of the web's traffic switching to mobile, especially younger audiences, the web needs to adapt to match. Existing solutions in the space like TrevorSpace and JustLeftTheCloset.com aren't adaptive or responsive and don't have apps or even separate mobile sites. Many of our users are already using the mobile facilities provided, and we're working on getting apps out there. With live notifications and real-time chat, Unyq focuses on personal contact with others, which is something many LGBT teenagers feel they need, especially in difficult times. Unyq excels at providing a full-feature social network, in contrast to other services which provide what's generally a watered-down service. We believe that in some areas of the LGBT teen market, the word "social" in social network has been forgotten. At Unyq, we understand that it's hard for many teens to come to terms with their own identity, never mind try and share it with others in any way.
