2 area communities host free support groups in March for families, friends of people with dementia

CHICAGO - Feb. 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Residents in Chicago’s Beverly/Morgan Park neighborhood and around Orland Park who are caregivers of older adults with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia are invited to attend special programs offered by two of the area’s leading life plan communities.

    At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, an open forum discussion will be hosted by Smith Village’s memory support coordinator Diane Morgan. “Participants can ask questions that concern them about the progression and treatment of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease,” she says.     Beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, at Smith Crossing, 10501 Emilie Lane (enter at 104^th Avenue and 183^rd Street), a representative from Great Lakes Caring home health and hospice will be available to answer questions or concerns about how home health can assist someone with memory loss . Director of resident services Amie Swim and social services director Amy Majcinawill lead the hour-long open forum discussion.
