As the 20th century approached, the dressing table was given firmer and sleek finish. The base was more glossy and smoother than the previous designs of tables. The tables were given different shapes and sizes. Some tables had drawers on both the ends while leaving the middle space vacant and some of the tables had the entire lower part covered with drawers. So the tables differed according to the different preferences of women.
