About Rosa Maria Palomino: Palomino is a veteran educator and small business owner. She is the president of Tropical Nostalgia Inc. which offers Miami After Dark wines, luxury gifting and locally-branded confections. She has been teaching at Citrus Grove Elementary School in Little Havana for 18 years receiving numerous accolades for her success in the classroom and in creating community partnerships. She participates in a number of neighborhood organizations, including as President of the Douglas Park Neighborhood Association which organizes community involvement in the remediation of Douglas Park. Last year, she ran unsuccessfully for City of Miami District 2 commissioner. About State House District 112: District 112 has a mostly Hispanic demographic, representing the city of Miami, the city of Coral Gables and the village of Key Biscayne. Representative Jose Javier Rodriguez, the current two-term Democrat, is expected to vacate the seat in order to run for the State Senate. End
