Record Express IT Director Presents at the Cincinnati Paralegal Association Seminar

CINCINNATI - Feb. 24, 2016 - PRLog -- Batavia, Ohio – Insights into how the legal profession can use technology to help secure, enhance and improve document control was the subject of Charles “Skip” Bolton’s presentation at the Cincinnati Paralegal Associations’ 2015 Fall Seminar.

Bolton, Chief Technology & Information Officer at Record Express, focused not only on document control, but also document and information security, as well as increased productivity and performance.

A particular area of focus in Bolton’s presentation was secure record and data transfer. “Many people think that because their in-house server and email communications are secure, and that those of their intended recipient are secure, that the transfer of information is secure.”

“This couldn’t be farther from the truth” Bolton said. “What people do not realize is that the information more often than not is being transferred over non-secure transmission lines that are can be easily compromised.  And, in the case of emails and faxes, there are often “copies” of those documents retained on unsecured servers supporting the transmission process.”

Other issues addressed by Bolton included; optical character recognition, file naming and indexing, document retention and recovery, disaster recovery, and electronic signature and document tracking.
