STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Feb. 24, 2016 - PRLog -- Staten Island, NY, February 11, 2016 – The Jaime’s Lilac Foundation (www.jaimeslilac.org) delivered the very first shipment of cancer patient care packages to the Richmond University Medical Center (http://www.rumcsi.org) on Wednesday, February 11, 2016.  This marks the first distribution of these care packages; which will kick-start the regular shipment of packages to multiple organizations.

“We are so excited to be able to provide these patient care packages.  We hope that this will help these cancer patients as they continue their courageous fight against cancer.” Said The Jaime’s Lilac Foundation board member Vincent Moltisanti.

The Jaime’s Lilac Foundation has designed cancer patient care packages that are specific to both male and female adult patients, as well as pediatric patients.  Each care package contains a number of items that mitigate cancer symptoms and treatment side effects.  These items were included specifically because they were used by the foundation’s name sake, Jaime Moltisanti Cucuzza, during her battle against lung cancer.  The Jaime’s Lilac Foundation was created after Jaime succumbed to cancer at only 38 years old.

“I am so proud of the work the foundation has done to provide these care packages.” Said foundation President John Cucuzza.  “This is going to be the first of many shipments to come throughout the years.  We will do all we can to help the Richmond University Medical Center fight cancer.”

Richmond University Medical Center medical staff and nursing staff were present to receive the shipment of cancer patient care packages.  Further information on this story can be found on The Jaime’s Lilac Foundation Facebook page (Facebook - The Jaime's Lilac Foundation).  To learn more about the foundation, or to make a donation, please visit www.jaimeslilac.org.
